This Bulletin provides an overview of the climate situation and impacts on agriculture and food security from April to June 2023 as well as the climate outlook from August to October 2023. The bulletin was jointly prepared by Government partners and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳(in English and Bahasa Indonesia).

From April to June 2023 rainfall conditions varied geographically across Indonesia. The Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) reported that approximately 60 of the regions in Indonesia entered dry season as of June 2023 and meteorological drought was noticed in Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. Moreover, El Ni?o event will likely have implications on rice planting and potentially increase the risk of drought in the second half of 2023.According to the BMKG and global meteorological and climatological agencies, the weak El Ni?o is transitioning to a moderate El Ni?o, which is expected to persist until end of 2023.
