ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳Seasonal Monitoring Bulletin: January-March (Q1) 2023

none
This Bulletin provides an overview of the climate situation and impacts on agriculture and food security from January to March 2023 as well as the climate outlook from May to July 2023. The bulletin was jointly prepared by Government partners and ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳(in English and Bahasa Indonesia).

In the first quarter of 2023 (January-March), rainfall patterns in Indonesia were mostly within the normal range compared to the average rainfall recorded over the past 30 years. The triple-dip La Ni?a phenomenon, which persisted for three consecutive years since 2020, has finally ended. However, the ENSO index is expected to gradually shift towards an El Ni?o phase in the second semester of 2023 with forecast that most provinces in Indonesia will experience an earlier onset of the dry season.
